Roles and Responsibilities:
Apply Database Patches. Create Tables and maintain new database Create Indexes Monitor system activities and logs Database Start-up and Shutdown User administration - Roles,Privileges,Security,Ba ckup and Restoration activities Analyzes and completes requested modifications to existing database structures Runs database utilities as per the laid down procedures Analyzes reports/logs/dumps an d other data to recommend / implement corrective action to maintain database performance and efficiency Resolves database problems Coordinates Implementation of Performance and Tuning Actions with A pplications Development Team
Skills Required:
5 years DBA experience with SQL Server. Should have a good working knowledge of the following: Should be good in OLAP knowledge Should hold good knowledge on ETL Should be good in Troubleshoot ing/Optimizing DTS Should be good in Troubleshooting/Optimizing Stored Procedures HP Service Desk would be a plus Should have Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience Should be good in Index analysis and creation Should be good in Complex SQL statement troubleshooting and performance analysis Should have Good written and oral communication skills.
